How I Got Started
My Story
I had recently turned 40 and my youngest was around 18 months old when I realised something had to change. I felt heavy, sluggish, and achy— getting out of bed in the morning was uncomfortable.
I started small with kettlebells at home, then joined a free boxing group for motivation. From there, I moved into women’s group fitness and eventually calisthenics, where I discovered how strong and capable my body really was. The aches disappeared, my fitness soared, and I shed 15 kilos in the process.
But like many women, when life got busy, my own health slipped. Running classes, raising kids, juggling side jobs, and trying to grow a business left me inconsistent and without routine. I kept cutting calories in unsustainable ways and eventually hit burnout. I gained weight back, noticed stubborn fat around my midsection, and my energy and mood dropped.
That was a turning point. Instead of giving up, I went to my doctor and chose HRT. The shift was almost immediate—my energy returned, my mood lifted, and I felt like myself again.
Since then, I’ve invested in coaching to improve my own lifting and to better support my clients. Right now, I’m halfway through my first powerlifting block, feeling stronger than ever.
My journey hasn’t been a straight line, and that’s exactly why I coach the way I do. I understand the struggles, the setbacks, and the wins. My mission is to help women over 40 feel strong, confident, and energised in a body they love—without extremes or quick fixes.
